Super easy, Super delicious No Bake Chocolate Truffle Tart!

24 June 2014

Here at SewLomax we love chocolate (who doesn't?!) so we thought we would share with you one our favourite recipes.

It is super easy, super quick, incredibly tasty and no oven needed, just a fridge! Perfect for dinner parties or just a tasty treat to keep in the fridge, this Chocolate Truffle Tart is guaranteed to satisfy your chocolate cravings.

To keep yourself from getting mucky while following this delicious recipe, why not wear a SewLomax Apron, all three designs are currently reduced by 70% at notonthehighstreet.com!

You Will Need:

  • A 20cm (8in) shallow, loose bottomed sandwich tin with the based lined with baking parchment

  • 125g Melted Butter

  • 200g Crushed Digestive Biscuits

  • 300ml Whipping Cream

  • 2 table spoons of Icing Sugar

  • a couple of splashes of Vanilla Extract

  • 200g Melted Dark Chocolate

  • A little bit of Cocoa to dust

Step 1:

Start by crushing the biscuits in a re-sealable bag with either a rolling pin or any heavy object (I used a tin of baked beans!), stir the crushed biscuits into the melted butter and cover the base and sides of the cake tin with the biscuit mixture. Pop it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set.

Step 2:

To make the base start by adding the whipping cream, icing sugar and vanilla extract to a large bowl and whisk the mixture until it forms soft peaks. As this may take a while I would suggest using an electric whisk, unless you enjoy a bit of a work out!

Step 3:

Once whisked gradually whisk in the melted chocolate until the mixture thickens and then spoon all of the mixture into the biscuit base. Place in the fridge for a couple of hours to set and then dust with the Cocoa for a lovely finishing touch.
